One night of the year when even the usual stay at home types might want to venture out is December 31^st. Instead of sitting at home with some family and friends with some mince pies and the odd sherry, watching the televised New Years Eve parties, why not try something different this year? London isn’t just about the organized events around Trafalgar Square but there are some really interesting events to make the New Year go with a real bang.

Places to go

Battersea Evolution recreates the Off-Piste experience. Battersea Park is transformed into a winter wonderland and if you love the alpine experience then it could just be the place for you. You’ll enter through trees draped with magical lights and through the forest you’ll come to an alpine village serving all the schnapps (or champagne) you like. If you prefer warmer climates, then Egg is where you should be heading. The Rio New Year Carnival is the theme here and in homage to that event everyone dresses to impress in white and rocks their socks off in four rooms of “A” list DJs.

If your tastes are a bit earthier, you could try the Oktoberfest Beer Hall New Year Bash at The Fest. You’ll love the authentic recreation of a Munich beer hall complete with an Oompah band, and there’s plenty of entertainment in the beer drinking Olympics. If toasting January 1^st with a litre stein of ice cold German beer is your thing then you shouldn’t miss this.

All of the big clubs will be holding special themed nights and these themes include James Bond, a night with the stars (complete with a red carpet and paparazzi), and a circus so there’s bound to be something that is of interest to you.
