Last New Year’s Eve, my financee, Ann, and I went to Bondai on
Fulham Road. When she was looking into where we should go to ring in the New Year, she saw a list on the London Groove Web site that included this as one of the hot bars to check out. Since we live right down the way, we thought it seemed like a great idea. We invited a few couple to go with us and then stay over at our flat after the festivities were over. We had a fabulous time. All the drinks were delicious and the prices were well within reason. We spent quite a few pounds that night, but, hey, it was New Year’s Eve. The atmosphere was unbelievably fun. Out of all the clubs we frequent, Bondai by far had the best music, hands down. The DJs played all the latest hits and just about any classic that you can think of. The wait staff were courteous and respectful. They were dressed professionally and clean cut, and they were quick to respond when you asked for a fresh drink. While I prefer the Ketel One and cranberry juice, my Ann prefers to drink the 12-year-old Glenfiddich neat. We tried some of the other cocktails they mix at the suggestions of our servers and were pleased. Our friends also engaged in lots of dancing and consumed several beverages each. We all left happy and arrived back at the flat safely.
Ann had the good sense to buy our tickets well in advance. If she hadn’t had the foresight to do that, we quite certainly would not have gotten in, since they were sold out when we arrived—and we arrived fairly early in the evening. The place was completely packed, but we were impressed with the good time everyone seemed to be having. The music was just the right level of volume and the dance floor was just the right level of packed—not so packed that you could not move around, but filled with enough people so that you did not stand out if you tried to bust a move. The blokes and I were not the best dancers, therefore, it was nice to simply blend in with the scenery and watch our ladies get their groove on. For the coming New Year, Ann has already booked a VIP area. We are confident that—given the good time we had this past New Year’s, as well as the club’s reputation among our friends—that we will be able to get enough people together to make it worth our while. I just need to remind my mates that they need to dress smart for the occasion.
