New Year's in England

Where in the world did you spend last New Year's? Did you sit home in bed and watch as the ball fell in New York City, or were you out at the local club dancing the night away as the countdown started? Well, how about something different this year -- how about a trip overseas? How about a New Year's Eve party in London?

London -- it's one of the greatest cities in the world and is said to have some of the greatest New Year's Eve parties ever thrown. The clubs in the west end of London go all out for New Years and make you feel like New York is just a side show. With bars of any style imaginable, you will be able to pull up a stool at anyplace you like or maybe even do a pub crawl from club to club. From sophisticated, trendy, and classy clubs to the more risqué and provocative clubs, there is something for everyone.

London is rich in history and culture, but do not let the old history lesson from a guided tour make you think that they are locked in the past. Take one look around at the people and parties and you will know that you have arrived. The fashion industry is thriving in London as well as it being a hot spot for celebrities. The east bank is also nice if you like the meat-market type bar that does not have any style or class. There also is a huge variety of bars in the west end that far out number that in the east.

Clubs in the west end that have excellent New Year's Eve parties include The Donovan Bar, which is housed inside of the Browns Hotel -- an excellent choice for a great party without having to leave your hotel. There is also the Absolute Ice bar constructed completely of ice. When you order a drink on the rocks here, you get one literally. Located right next door to 22 Below, you can see the theme here is to be cool and as well as COLD.

There are free drink bars and bars with a little more but for all of us who usually see the regular crowd in Times Square on TV, this is the wildest and most awesome New Year's Eve party in the world. What better way to ring in the New Year than to be celebrating it with friends as you all journey to London. If you travel fast enough you could even be able to get back to the good old USA for an after New Year's Eve party in your home town. So this holiday season keep in mind that even though we know and love the festivities of Times Square and our own cities' New Year's Eve celebrations, we can venture overseas and party like never before and ring in the New Year in a whole new way.
